With seductive arrogance, she glanced at him from time to time. He stood motionless, hiding his answer behind his gaze.
They had to get away from each other.
It's over! — They had repeated those words through countless fights and arguments.
Yet she could not let him go, nor could he leave. Over the years, they had become inseparable. All the cursing, yelling, and insults had been forgotten.
But this time they had to part.
It was Independence Day—July 4—the perfect day to separate… and, at the same time, the perfect day to spend together eating, drinking, smoking, and dancing.
Their eyes met once more, silently saying:
"You're such a fucking beast. You can just fucking walk away, can't you? You fucking monster."
