Alien Bloom  2014-2022
Alien Bloom is a fictional  Alien garden that offers a hallucinatory platform or "location"  for Eteri’s thoughts and memories and harbors the issues of her homeland Georgia as well as  adopted country USA. These thoughts “migrate” into the Alien Bloom garden for further contemplation. Alien Bloom landscape also includes 35 round paintings depicting the homeless population, installed into an Alien shaped flower.

Paintings created for the  project  are set among the sculptural flowers — hand carved, painted and constructed from tossed-out plastic disposable bottles by her collaborator Gocha Chkadua. Images of these paintings and  sculptural flora will  illustrate Eteri’s  upcoming project , feature-documentary film Alien Bloom. The subject of the film is a psychological journey of the artist herself, as the first generation of Georgian emigrant, who questions and investigates how emigration affects perception of  place and belonging and explores themes of nostalgia, memory, fantasy and displacement .
